I'm going to guess that women's suffrage led to wearing of pants, which led to unisex clothing to men with long hair and earrings and eventually men wearing women's clothing.

So a poor, unhumurous way of calling them skirts.

Re: Today's kilt comments when out and about

I had a strange" experience the other night. We attended an English Opera. I wore my kilt and during the intermission, a fellow walked up to me asked "Why are you wearing a Kilt? Is because you want to make a statement against the English?" I told him "No there is no statement I am making, I always wear my kilt to any function I attend" He was dressed in a full "long split tail tuxedo and white shirt, spats and very long black artificial leather shoes" In my mind he would fit in very well with the penguins living in the Antarctic. His wife told him to act with a little more class and that she said I looked good and she appreciated a man who wore a Kilt and that "Bob" should look as good. I bowed slightly to her and said thank you. As I was leaving I over-heard her say. "Bob... it is time for you to get some class and learn some manners" I did not overhear any other conversation after that.
    I felt good!

This is why you have to say, "cute shoes".

... The lass in Zardoz's pic on the Lederhosen thread has "nice shoes"

I agree completely sir on the rudeness on her part. However, the OP was being just as rude to her in his comments regarding her conduct. He should also have the social grace in not making broad generalizing comments regarding her. That was the point of my post.
