Re: Atlanta Kilts?
thanks for the help. I unfortunately live in Memphis, TN. Not much really goes on here for the Celtic or Scottish community that I'm aware of. I think I'll stick with stillwater and USA kilts.

Can't go wrong with either of them.

They're related to the breeders of Naugas. You may remember the uproar some years ago about furniture finished in Naugahide.

I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

Actually, quite a bit goes on in the Memphis Scottish Society:

One of our clan society members lives just over the border in Northern MS and attends some of their functions.

Re: Atlanta Kilts?
I've been wanting to go, but I unfortunately work 2nd shift 3-11:30 pm. It definitely puts a damper on that activity.

Re: Atlanta Kilts? What about their Jackets?
I've been looking for a tailcoat or a Prince Charlie in a lighter than Barathea tropical or worsted wool that I can turn into a Spencer tuxedo coat. Has anybody bought or rented a jacket, PC or Argyll, from Atlanta Kilts?

Re: Atlanta Kilts?
Acrylic wool. Is that anything like 100% imitation leather?

"Acrylic wool" indeed! Who cooked that nonsensical term up in the first place? I have no problem with acrylic itself but I do have a big problem with misrepresenting something and creating some kind of weird ambiguity over the relationship between the two fabrics. I have the same problem with the nebulous term "fleece" when applied to the current crop of synthetic fabrics...last I knew, fleece came from sheeps.
Wandering slightly off topic, though, I would think that by now there would be some new development in the fabric world that would have the cost factor of acrylic but would have improved characteristics...like not bursting into flame.
Remember...there is always PV which is sort of the quality and cost compromise between wool and acrylic.
