Readers; If you think that is Bad(or Odd) try the Problem in Maine. We have one tartan, made by a single mfg. that is copyrighted-i.e. no one can use it. Then we have another, made by the Me.St.Andrews, which anyone can use. The State will not budge in 'santioning' either design as "Official". So if you were to buy one sett in a kilt, you could suddenly find yourself with the 'wrong offical tartan'-Ouch, my wallet suddenly hurts' Department. As an aside, I have done a bit of work in trying to 'get the ball rolling again' for the Maine Lawmakers(the last effort was circa 1995)to pick one.
