Looking mighty chilly up there Chris, good to see the scarf being secured at appropiate times. Thanks for the photos, look forward to seeing Dunnet Head and John O'Groats. Cheers

Thanks for the pics Chris. I just checked Google and it indicated a day time high of 45F, man brave souls indeed for surfing in that temperature.

So we head up to Dunnet Head. It's 3 miles from the main road and it's looking bleak. We just had a hail storm and it looks like snow on the road.

On the top of Dunnet Head. The Isle of Hoy is in the distance.

The scarf wanted to go para gliding. The wind was about 40mph so Veronica took this one from the car.

There were some very big and very black clouds on the way so we did not linger and headed down.

Back at sea level looking east towards John O'Groats. The sea is rough.

    Next, John O'Groats.

    Cheers.

    Chris.

After about a 12 mile drive we arrived at John O'Groats.

The shop and cafe. This is our new car, a VW Touran 1.6L turbo diesel.

    The Tourist Information Centre.

The obligatory kilt + scarf photo taken by Veronica. The sky is looking grim!

    The shop and museum.

Looking towards the harbour. There is a ferry across to Orkney in the summer but it is not a car ferry.

Then it started to hailstone again so we headed into the cafe and shop for tea and home made scones.

We then went home, packed the scarf up and went to the post office. So it's away 1st class to Ham in West Sussex..

    Cheers.

    Chris and Veronica.

Great photos Chris, you've done the scarf proud. You have ingnored the elements and did the job you said you would do. Better you than me in that weather. Cheers

I think the scarf prefered the hail storm weather to the hot dry desert it had to deal with while I had it this past Summer!

Great pics! The weather, however ominous, still looks rather inviting to me.

Looks like you were able to get the official arms up scarf pose, but just barely! Glad you didn't get blown into the sea, looks like some pretty nasty winds up there.

Thanks Chris, to you and your good lady Veronica, for taking yet more time out with the scarf and taking and posting more pics. Again I really appreciate it.
The weather certainly looks a bit rough up in your neck of the woods. We have been lucky here in South Wales ... its been nice spring weather all week, although they keep saying its going to change drastically very shortly.
Thanks again for putting the scarf back on the road so swiftly. Its certainly covered a lot of ground in 7 days.
