Welsh to 'out-tartan' the Scots
Thousands of Welsh rugby supporters are planning to 'out-tartan' the Scots at the big match in Edinburgh on Saturday.
Welsh Tartan Centres, which has shops in Swansea, Cardiff and Newtown, has completely sold out of Welsh kilts and the Welsh version of the sporran, ysgrepan.
Businessman Tony Collins who runs the centres said yesterday, 'We have had phenomenal demand for Welsh kilts from supporters heading for Murrayfield.
'For the first time for a single event, all our three stores in Wales have completely sold out in terms of hire and purchase of kilts and accessories.
'We have also sold a lot of kilts online to Welsh exiles living in England, Scotland or Ireland who are heading to the Murrayfield match.'
Mr Collins said the most popular style for Scotland-bound Welsh fans was the St David's tartan.
It is a wide striped reddish burgundy colour which goes well with the red of the Welsh jersey worn on top

Well I am sure that Tony Collins is smiling win or lose for Wales!
Just as well I got my order in early!
I will of course be wearing my St David's for the match but will be watching it in the comfort of my own home whilst the predicted rainfall melts all that snow outside.
It's the Six Nations match that has mixed loyalties as I support both teams against all the others.
But it's great news that the cilt is getting more popular with Wales rugby fans - I hope not only that they wear them at every match but also on a more frequent basis.
When I get to Edinburgh next week I expect that there will be less curiosity about what my tartan is once the "Taffy Tartan Army" has demonstrated it!
And may the best team win!
(the banana tartan looks remarkably like the St David's....) coincidence? I think not! )
