Two D.I.Y. sporrans in as many days.
I have been off for the holiday and decided to do a little DIY.
The first is a simple day sporran. I designed, made the pattern, and made this one yesterday.
The next is my take on a drover sporran. This one I designed, made the pattern, and made today.

You may be interested to know I have some seal skin from a coat that I am planning on working up into a sporran as well as some nutria fur. I have a few other sporrans to be made that have been started and need to be finished.

Both look very nice, but the first one is quite impressive. The stitching is nice and even, and the rolled edges are pretty good as well. It seems to me that those are two places where amatures and newbies tend to do less than the best.

Harold, love the flap on the drover's sporran. The interweaving of the leathers looks quite unique, that is to say, I've never seen it done before. Is that a straight strip or curved?
I think the knotwork is really superior as well.

Chas

It is a curved strip that way there is no puckering. I learned all my knotwork as a scout. An eagle is always prepared!

Great drovers sporran Harold and the leather of the day sporran looks superb.
I concur with Chas on the knotwork on the Drover
