    Re: Scottish Movies ?

There is another charming film starring Bill Travers( who acted as wee Geordie) as a Western Islander who leaves the island to find a wife. As a totally unworldly chap he gets into all sorts of gentle, but funny, scrapes and eventually rows home with a wife! There is a scene where Bill Travers needs clothing PDQ and he has to think several times about wearing a Campbell tartan kilt that happened to be on the clothes line, in desperation he reluctantly does. I cannot remember the name of the film and have not seen it for years.

Might that be The Bridal Path from 1959?

I found a synopsis that may help:

Based on a novel by Nigel Tranter, The Bridal Path is a light-hearted look at the somewhat unfortunate results that can come of the continued marrying of fairly close cousins in a restricted and remote community. Set in the Hebrides off Scotland, the story tells how Ewan MacEwan leaves the isle of Eorsa in search of the perfect wife, but finally returns to marry Katie.
