The Action Kilt Pic Challenge
OK, let's try something new. In this thread I challenge ---OK, so the word "challenge" is taken somewhat liberally, here.. ..--- any and all X Markers to post a picture of you in your kilt IN ACTION.
What does this mean? It means a picture of you doing something while kilted. It can be pretty much anything: hiking, sewing, leatherwork, at your wood lathe, doing Scottish Country Dance, running the XYZ machine at work, coding Perl at your computer at work, playing the pipes, playing your tuba, WHATEVER it is that you do. "In Action" doesn't need to be in physical action, it can be mental or what-have-you.
But...no "here's my new kilt" or.... "This is how I wear my new hose" or "hey, are my pleats straight?" pictures. Save those for another thread, OK?
I wanna see what you DO in your kilt. Give us a picture of you in action in your daily life...or if you prefer, a picture of you in an exceptional circumstance, KILTED, doing what you do.
NOTE: all kilts welcome in this thread. Tartan wool? check. Tartan PV? check. Camouflage? check.
Ready? Set...GO for it!

Nice, McMurdo! Are you wearing dance ghillies or do you dance in "regular" shoes?
edit...doh. I see the ghillies in the first pic. They're just hard to pick out against your socks.

Not too exciting but here are a couple of pictures of me hiking among the glacial caves at the top of Loon Mountain, NH in 2009...

Re: The Action Kilt Pic Challenge
Alan, good idea for a thread, I look forward to what others post. Yes they are dance ghillies though I think I might need a new pair mine have been glued together a few times now. After 5 years of dancing or so, they are just about done. When I started dancing I did my first few classes in regular shoes, the dance ghillies are much better for it, and I am starting to think that dance shoes without the laces might be even better, my feet have swelled up after just about every class, or dance I have ever gone to, now I wear a compression sleeve and I take advil and ice my foot afterward.

Re: The Action Kilt Pic Challenge
Here is my action shot of what I look like every day doing what I do every day.
Ready to open the door of the kilt shop.

And here is my action shot of what I do on the weekends.
Giving a tour of the First Peoples Gallery at The Royal BC Museum.

And in action working our booth at a games.

I'm not in Alan's class when it comes to tossing heavy rocks or telephone poles but I do toss a mean wellie.

Re: The Action Kilt Pic Challenge
Old "doing" photos, but what can you "do" at this time on the 31st of December:

...'pointing the way' with Mackintosh of Mackintosh and Farquharson of Invercauld at Inverness,

...signing the 2009 Band of Union with Maclean of Dochgarroch as witness,

...sending Fidget away to hunt in Glen Isla.

...Fidget herself--that's my fist .

...doing what I do, at Dunlichity.

...at Aswan with Halim in 2010

...speaking to an assembly at Inverness.

with Ruth, wishing you all a happy 2012.
