    Here's a few fairly recent ones Alan.

    Out for a pre-Christmas walk with my Smooth Collie "Sassy"

    Y'all might notice that Sassy's left front paw looks a little wider. I'm told it was injured as
    a pup & became slightly deformed. It doesn't seem to bother her or affect her abilities...



    *the Smooth Collie is the cousin of the Rough Collie (think "Lassie" with short hair ).
    While the Rough was a Scottish sheep herding dog, the Smoothie was traditionally a
    Scottish cattle dog (& on some ranches out here on the westcoast still is).
    Breed histories state that the Smooth Collie was "saved" by the attentions of Queen Victoria.
    She took a liking to the breed & kept a large kennel of them, which caused others to follow suit,
    thereby ensuring the breed didn't become extinct (which it almost had).
