    Re: Scottish Movies ?

Haven't seen it for a while but I recall a scene or two in Man Who Would be King had a kilted regiment guarding the Kyber Pass. Don't think it showed Sean Connery wearing a kilt, though.

    Re: Scottish Movies ?

I watched a great little Scottish movie last night called My Life So Far, starring Colin Firth. It is a coming-of-age story about a small boy living on an estate in the Highlands post-WWI. Colin Firth plays his father, who is a rather odd but affable character and an inventor of highly improbable things. It is based on a true story, and I would love to hear from those in Scotland who may know more about this story and it's characters.

This is a great slice-of-life film, with humor, pathos and great cinematography. It reminds me of a combination of Monarch of the Glen and Upstairs/Downstairs. Not a movie for children.
