Matt looked like a hippy, back then... and what's with the floral sporran?

Joanie, on the other hand, looks absolutely classic.

Does getting down from a bar-stool count?

From an oil painting: "To the Butts at the Field Sports". That would be me in the middle.

You don't get down from a barstool -- you get down from a duck!

Does kilted in a video game count?

I designed a custom skin for my character in the game "Minecraft" - diced hose, brown leather belt/sporran/strap, and the best approximation of the Davidson tartan I could make with two pixels...

Re: The Action Kilt Pic Challenge

I was wondering how long it would take before someone commented on my white hose! No one mentioned the ghillies, though. :-)

The difference is that I still own, and will occasionally wear the ghillies.

Yes, at my wedding I and all the groomsmen were kilted. We all had on different tartans, but the same color hose (white), and the same black Argyle jacket and black bow tie from the waist up. The groomsmen also had coordinating black leather "hunting" style sporrans, while I wore a (borrowed) fur dress sporran.

If I had to dress myself for the same wedding now, I'd wear diced hose rather than the white, buckle brogues, and a different sporran (likely a hair one). I'd also add a tartan waistcoat, and I'd replace the pre-tied bow tie we all were wearing with a real one.

The bride, and everything about her, I'd keep the same. :-)

Hmm. Action photos. I might have a couple of those.

Some backpacking at the (Texas) Hill Country State Natural Area:

Random picture of me somewhere on (or maybe off) the trail during a light day hike with no gear:

Like Ron, I do a little kilted horseback riding now and again too. But I prefer, um, "full contact" riding.

My lovely wife and I at the Austin Celtic Festival. I'm apparently explaining something really important that has her and the kilt salesman enthralled.
