Yesterday's kilt making adventure
I've spent the last couple of days making a couple of new kilts to wear as casual, yet kinda rugged material, everyday kilts. I did both of these primarily the same, and used black bottom weight fabric as well as sewing the pleat edges all the way to the bottom hem line. I've added a few belt loops and have sewn velcro closures for the front aprons, but haven't added any pockets (although I still may do so).
Previously I had made some of the cargo/utility style kilts with snaps to fasten them, but I've discovered that as I gain weight a little bit more each year, that the snaps are less effective at a good fit. :-)
I have some great green bottom weight fabric that I plan on making several more from ( I think I can get about 4 out of the fabric I currently have... gotta love the Walmart sale rack!).
I'd love any input, as I'm always trying to improve!
I'm just going to link to the album on here because for whatever reason I'm not seeing the photos from an actual image link...
