I've spent the last couple of days making a couple of new kilts to wear as casual, yet kinda rugged material, everyday kilts. I did both of these primarily the same, and used black bottom weight fabric as well as sewing the pleat edges all the way to the bottom hem line. I've added a few belt loops and have sewn velcro closures for the front aprons, but haven't added any pockets (although I still may do so).

Previously I had made some of the cargo/utility style kilts with snaps to fasten them, but I've discovered that as I gain weight a little bit more each year, that the snaps are less effective at a good fit. :-)

I have some great green bottom weight fabric that I plan on making several more from ( I think I can get about 4 out of the fabric I currently have... gotta love the Walmart sale rack!).

I'd love any input, as I'm always trying to improve!
