I'm SO technique-oriented that overthinking the throws are a big issue for me. After killing my throws distances in the weights throughout most of the season, I went to Ventura with this mindset.

This is the last Games of the season. There are 6 months ahead of you to "recover". There is nothing to lose. So just GO FOR IT.

...which is exactly what I did in the LWFD and HWFD. After watching West Imboden at a practice, and noticing how quick he was in the back I decided I was going to do that...did it....and had the best sequence of throws I'd had all year, AND a gigantic PR in the HWFD.

My mantra in caber now, when there's a big heavy stick....something that Dan McKim said.
"Be aggressive, or it'll bury you"

so now, before I pick a snarl at myself ...""BE AGGRESSIVE">... seems to work, I've turned every caber since Pleasanton.

Nice work!! That doesn't look light, for sure!

Also thumbs up on the bad-**** tee and I'm extremely jealous of your clean/organized garage.

...Sometimes I can't even find my car under Mr. Plaids duck stuff.

    Re: The Video Thread

A few years ago, I had a video of myself on youtube blowing huge fireballs at night using everclear. The funny part was that I kept failing by spitting too much on the torch so the fire woudl just go out. I got one shot were I sprayed just enough everclear on the fire and this huge fireball lit up and I started screaming and jumping around. It was a pretty funny video. Im sad it's gone.

It was fun for a one time thing. That stuff shredded the crap out of my mouth the next morning.

    I'll start.

LWFD video from Ventura. I blocked myself off bigtime in the first turn, in the last one, but damn if that wasn't the biggest throw. This was a good sequence for me, if I remember right...46, 47 48...

Comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks to Aaron and Kim P. for the video.
Wow. I have never seen that actually done. I think I would have wacked someone in the face with the ball or it would have flown in some pedestrian direction...

Oh it was great fun. Nothing like a Luau party with only 2 people (epic party fail) so, to have some fun, we just sprayed everclear on the luau torches that people buy for their front lawns. The fireball was at least a good few feet long. So proud of myself!
