Re: serenade to lovat blue kilt hose

A pair of Sandringham hose in "Heathland Marl" which is a very lovat-blue type color.

Re: serenade to lovat blue kilt hose

    Wow, you guys are great.

Personally, I think Black Watch should be invited to this party too. It is so durn dark I find it to be a challenging sett to balance, but my wife loves it and it is a universal sett, so I am kind of stuck with it. No disrepect to veterans living or past intended.

I can hear the "matchy-match" chant starting already, but bear with me. This is a very common shirt color in the US. We might as well call the shirt color Lovat Blue and get it over with. I think, with a bright enough tie and suitable flashes this can step over the matchy-match line and be acceptable. I have been watching for a new red paisley tie in screaming crayola red for a couple years now.

Open collared with a not white t shirt underneath is a reach for me. But it could be done; and it is, I am sure you will agree, a cut or two above white hose with a white shirt and a white t shirt showing. I can't help but wonder how college aged American girls feel about this:

Moving away from the electrified third rail, I am retiring this sweater effective immediately. But, it does work OK with Black Watch kilt and lovat blue hose I think, just the sweater doesn't fit me for beans.

Re: serenade to lovat blue kilt hose

French blue shirt with green kilt is not going to work for everyone everywhere either. In certain parts of the deep south it would be immediately assumed I was running a house of ill repute on the outskirts of town.

In interior Alaska, for six months of the year outdoor color falls into three categories: 1> white 2> grey and 3> manmade.

This is perfectly reasonable visual interest up here, it worked well in Bermuda when I took the trouble to get my tie length correct and would work, I think, in much of metropolitan California.

Scotland not so much, but it doesn't break any of the written rules.

I like the yellow tie and flashes with that shirt and hose combo. I'd like a solid red tie and flashes too.

Once again proving that the little black dress trumps tartan kilt everytime

I agree! The tartan and the hose look very smart together!

    Well done, Kenneth!
