Are you old enough to be an elder, Bro. Ross?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Both those buckles are really nice to behold, and very symbolically rich. They look pretty hefty too...

I'm older than I look.

They're heavy-duty in their construction, and you'll never break them, that's for sure.
But in terms of weight... they feel solid, but not nearly as heavy as you might think; when worn, I can't notice a difference in feel between Mark's buckles and the plain center bar type that I also wear.

I had license plate holders made for my Honda CR-V that say ALUMNI, MISKATONIC UNIVERSITY. I get the biggest kick when someone asks me "Miskatonic University? That's back East isn't it?" All I can do is smile an say "Yes indeed Sir...yes indeed...."

Ryan, I am so glad that you like your buckle. My camera pretty much is shot- it does not read any where near what it sees.
I compliment you on your photographic skills. They are self-evident in this post and in the many other posts that you have been making.
I woke up at 2am one night, plagued near to insanity as to how I was going to make your buckle, and the pure genius celestial wave came into my head and, right then and there, I knew how to make the "starry sky".
I got up, made some coffee, and the world changed before my eyes.

Just a note on buckle weight.
Most of my buckles weigh around 100 grams. Most all of them are 97-to-117 grams, even with either bezel-set glass or stone.
That translates into 3-to-3.6 oz, pretty light, compared to many stamped or cast buckles.
Strength in my buckles comes from silver solder, layers, and rivets, along with sculpted metal. Thus, the architecture of the build supplants the need for mass.

So....is the Elder Sign intended to keep evil out, or to keep it contained within the kilt?
