Personally I am not comfortable going without hose or hose-tops. It is perhaps my own sense of living tradition. The pic above is a rather informal get up.

Little off center.

Here we have some post casual street piping... minus brown sandals. Like to dress up piping with the bonnet and keep the sun out of my eyes. Even if I'm practicing, I like to at least grab the Balmoral... my liturgical nature maybe.

The second pic, minus the bonnet is about as "low" as I would dress... something like what folks might sport as a jeans t-shirt casual. I know some feel the T-shirt is an undershirt, though in many contexts there is a difference between a undershirt and a t-shirt... the shirt itself being of a different quality and perhaps with a design.

I can remember in my teenage years hiking in Southern Delaware in the humid summer and going bare chested, but I don't think that really counts as "Dress"... incidentally, would not part with hose.

I like this. Couldn't pull it off myself, but you have an individual style which I think seems very natural, especially paired with the kilt. Well done!

One of the "new traditional" looks that I think really works well for a casual look is a "Henley" style shirt with a kilt. I've noticed that Ryan Ross favours this style too, and pulls it off very well. My example:

barrels of whiskey can make even an absurd mullet look good.

this thread has been my favorite since lurking in november. lots of great sentiments and ideas.
