Kilt sighting in Philly

This picture appeared in today's Phila Inquirer, and the company ran a full page ad (different pic, but same gent, kilted) in Sunday's edition.

The back story: The Dad Vail Regatta is a long standing rowing/ sculling/ crew meet held annually on the Schuylkill River. A few years ago, during the height of the financial crash, the event threatened to move elsewhere (northern NJ?) due to lack of funds, higher costs, and so on. The event was rescued by this gent and his company, Aberdeen Asset Mgt. They have an office in downtown Phila.
He also started a corporate challenge; your company team(s) against his, and all for charity. This year's event is being spun up for May, hence the promo shot and ad.



The newspaper caption for this photo reads:
"In a clan-warrior spirit, kilt-clad Gary Marshall, CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management, which helped rescue the Dad Vail Regatta, is again challenging other corporate crew teams to a race on the Schuylkill during the regatta in May. Marshall is betting $5,000 (for charity) on his crew for bragging rights."

Looks like more and more men are wearing kilts. This is great! I hope more men remember where we came from and celebrate it.
