    Photos just don't do that tartan justice though.

    true enough Zardoz. None of the photos I have seen of this tartan show the true color.
    It has to be seen "in the flesh" to be truly appreciated.

    Had to go check at the Scotish tartan registry - this tartan is georgous - the colors are much more vivid. Is their picture pretty accurate sailortats?

    I always try to take pictures with out the flash as it always seems to washout the colors. Outside with a sunny day gets the color balance correct, taking the photo in the shade avoids the washout from the fabric surface reflections - works best for me.

    tundramanq - The colors shown on the site you mention are very accurate. That is the best computerized reproduction I have seen.
