I am fortunate to have several clan tartan names in my ancestry, but since I bare the name Craig, that is the tartan I prefer to wear. It is not easy to get and the colors are difficult to use, but that makes it unique.

Remember folks, it DOES NOT have to be your clan tartan. I'm fortunate to have many clans in my ancestry also(Macdonald of Keppoch, MacLean, Buchanan, Gordon), but you don't have to limit yourself to that.I'm not knocking anyone's clan affiliation, just making sure you know.

			Re: YOUR tartan

I have struggled for years trying to find "just the right" tartan -- one that I both like and has some "significance" for me. Almost by accident I found the County Tyrone (Ireland) tartan to fit the bill. My family name is said to have originated there and I just really like the colors and set even though it is of very modern and "unofficial" design (sort of like me -- the "unofficial part" anyway, if not the "very modern" ) It goes especially great with my brown tweed kilt jackets!!!
