    Re: An alternative to "gentlemen"

    Dear XMTS members,

This is just an in-thread notice that the moderators have received a report on this thread.

If possible, we would prefer not to have to intervene by removing posts or locking/removing the thread. The best kind of moderation is no moderation, so I'm allowing the opportunity here to move the discussion along.

Let me just issue a friendly reminder that discussions of politics and religion are not permitted, because they often end with people getting quite upset.

Please remember to stay current on forum rules, which can be found here: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...q=xmarks_rules

The report we received on this thread falls specifically under Rule#5:

    Rule #5
    - Discussions on the topics of religion and politics most often result in conflict between members. Posts which quote historical facts or historical events are acceptable. Discussions of the rightness or wrongness of, espousing one over another, perceptions of, or personal belief in, a religion or political system are not acceptable. Quite simply, check your religion and politics at the door before entering.
    Thank you for understanding,

    Jim Dunlop

While I think that most of what went on in this thread was really good, even if it's pretty contentious, if it's going to take a turn down this road, it's time to close the thread.

I'm the OP...politely request that the mods close this one...Thanks!
