Re: Show us your Irish kilt(s)
I don't think I can post any pictures of my Co. Derry kilt yet. It's still in the making. I have a few pictures of the progress but I don't know if the maker would appreciate them posted yet.
I will just have to wait till it arrives and then get back to you

A quick semi-off topic - Do we in the new world kilt up more than the Scots in Scotland for holidays? No posts here from Scotland yet - Bad time of day there?

It would appear to be so. As to the second question, it is unlikely that you will see many Scots wearing Irish kilts at any time of the day, so there is no reason for us to post here.

Knock-off of Ireland National, probably from Pakistan. I liked the brighter green.
This was obtained before I knew the story behind the Ireland National.
Looking forward to Chicago next weekend!

Great pics, everyone. Keep'em coming! Let's see how many Irish kilt pics we can get until St. Paddy's Day.

Will be a close call for it to get here on time. It's just drop dead georgous to my eyes.
UPDATE I looked again, this one has double orange stripes among other differences.
I submitted several designs as part of a contest The Frugal Corner was running and they selected this one, most likely because of the consistent colour scheme between a number of Irish tartans. The pattern, however, is reasonably different. To be honest, I also really liked some of my other designs that were black backgrounds with various shades of green lines, although I'll admit they weren't as instantly recognizable as 'Irish."
Here is my New World Irish tartan kilt, worn with a St. Pat's blue shirt:

Colin good of you to have included the St Patrick's blue, anyone who has been to Áras an Uachtaráin in Phoenix Park, the home of the Irish President, will know the St Patrick blue as it flies on the flag. A kilt in St Patrick's blue is on my wish list. The one pipe band I knew wore it, in San Francisco, now wears the County Wexford Tartan. But there is a pic from the old kilts: http://www.aef16.dial.pipex.com/nl-vol4-no3.pdf
