Show us your Irish Tartan Kilts!!!

    You know-
I find myself always going to the HoE website and cruising the Irish tartan list. I always swear to myself that I'm going to make myself one in one of these tartans (They are all so different and gorgeous....Even Cty. Down!!!). So if you have a kilt in one of these tartans, please show it. The HoE website shows a digi-tartan pic, so it be nice to see the real thing. Maybe will inspore me to go ahead and pic some material up one day!

I have a couple of them Josh. This one is a machine stitched in "County Kerry" from Tartanweb's ebay site that I got at a good price.

I have another fantastic hand stitched in "County Cavan" by the wonderfully talented Bonnie Heather Greene. I don't have any photos of it yet, but will try to get some taken tomorrow and post them.

    Cheers,
    Brooke

not to ofay with uploading photos but my profile pic is of my County Clare feileadh mhor. I got it seein as the Ó hAllmhuráin came from Clare, hope to make an 18th century style waistcoat out of Galway tartan as the senior Ó hAllmhuráin Clann came from there, will make some hose out of either kerry or FitzGerald tartan as the my FitzGerald side came from Castle Island in Kerry and hope to make a jacket out of either Limerick or (red) Connaught tartan.

This isn't from HoE but it is an Irish tartan, so I'm sharing it anyway. It is called the New World Irish tartan and was designed by yours truly. The only place it is currently available is from the Frugal Corner, in their heavyweight acrylic. I would be very flattered if someone wanted to get it custom woven in heavyweight wool one of these days

I like it quite and it is the tartan of my best friend's (my son's 'god'Father's) ancestral home. Might wear it myself some day soon.

I have Irish National and Cork in the HoE tartans, plus the New World Irish and a solid green from Frugal corner, and a saffron kilt. Now, if I just had some pictures!

I'd be especially interested in seeing your New World Irish kilt, for obvious reasons!

A good friend of mine is a Barry, that name originates from Cork county, I would love to have a picture of the Kilt to show them the full effect of the tartan.. a swatch just doesn't do it justice!

Show us your Irish Tartan Kilts!!!

Well I wouldn't personally call it an "Irish Tartan" but I know not everyone is so pedantic. Any way, without further ado, here she is; my love; my one ;my all (don't tell my wife); my kilt in the Ulster Red by D C Dalgeish, pleated to stripe:
