Re: Tyger's New Bonnie Heather Jacket/Coat Alteration

So, is that R'lyeh or Atlantis I see etched in that blade?

Or does that depend on which kilt he wears with it?

    ...depends on the kilt.

And Shawn, you should have run with that meteorite iron thing, man! As soon as I read what Scott wrote, I thought to myself: "D@%*! That does look like meteorite iron!" Impressive work, to say the least!

Now I need to finish knitting the midnight yarn, so I can hopefully get something in the mail tomorrow...

UPDATE: Bonnie has received the jacket. She has other works in progress; however, I suspect that she will hop in with a few pictures pretty soon.

Although commonly thought of as a deadly disease in dogs (our dog had it as an 8 wk old pup and survived----$4000 medical treatments later) there is a variant that is a human disease, entirely separate from but in many ways similar to the canine version. Typically strikes infants with a characteristic rash and some other systemic symptoms but is rarely lethal. Has the potential for shutting down the bone marrow causing anemia and immunosuppression so not good for heme/onc patients or others on immunosuppression for transplants, etc.... Also can be nasty if acquired during pregnancy causing profound anemia in the fetus, among other things, and a moderately high morbidity via miscarriage. Good news is that in infants it is generally a self limited if unpleasant disease, and in most adults asymptomatic or minimally discomforting, and once infected carries a generally lifetime immunity. Other problem is that survivors can shed the virus for many months after initial infection, without knowing it-----so good handwashing is always a recommendation to get in the habit of.

We now return to your regulalry scheduled programming.

Is it me, or are there certain threads around right now that are just way cooler and more fun than your average thread? I find that to be the case, certainly.

I concur Ryan. Certain threads are way cool. Others are......not. I sure have had to hold back on those not-so-cool threads, let me tell you!

Upon reflection, it is not so much the thread topic. It is the men and women who are not only the participants; they are the creators.

There is a lot of intelligence, fun, and energy in some of these threads. It cannot escape notice.

I am pacing the shop floor, waiting for Bonnie.

While I am waiting, I have designed some ConeHead brass buttons for the Harris Tweed.

Well said, Mark. In fact, exceptionally well said.

I mean, some of these threads floating around are like little online think-tanks, where concerned individuals exchange ideas freely, tackling some of the more important issues of our time. You don't find things like that every day.

And say it ain't so! Cone head BUTTONS?

I never thought I'd live to see that!

Yes, the Tyger was on the stairs in the front hall.
