A display of whiskey related paraphernalia on the tour.

The still - they only have one but it was made in Prestonpans. Alas you only get to see it behind glass.

A plaque giving some details of the distillation process. You will note that the barley wash preparation is not done at the distillery itself but is provided by Brains Brewery from Cardiff.

A Whisky barrel signed by HRH The Duke of Rothesay in his capacity as Prince of Wales.

This is one of only three known bottles that survive from the previous distillery in Wales which was located in the North near Lake Bala.

It was at Frongoch and more information about it can be found at http://www.celticmalts.com/journal.a...ierarchy=0|4|9

And a slightly closer look from a different angle.

Thanks for posting those pictures Trefor!

    Re: Abertillery, South Wales

Absolutely great set of pics Trefor of the Distillery and what you have captured at last weeks folk club .... You have now sealed your fate as official folk club photographer. Hope you can make some more soon.
It was great to meet up with Quaich and read some of the writings in the book that is travelling with it. With the added addition of Welsh Whiskey .. well ... it was all simply a fab eve with the Quaich ..
    Thanks Trefor ..
