    Re: Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser

My boyfriends 15 year old son was cruzing on his skate board, down a big hill and the skate board popped out from under him. He was not wearing a helmet.
He was with friends, thankfully, who knew enought to call 911 after he hit his head and had a seziure type episode. He was careflighted and spent the next 3 days in a coma with surgery to remove a blood clot involved. He woke up and kept pulling all the tubes out of him (much to everyones dismay and happiness)
Ronald MacDonald house was there for free for the family to take showers, sleep, do laundry, make phone calls (When your kid is in a coma, who knows what day it is) and the big hospital for us is an hour and a half drive away
We don't usually eat at MacDonalds (I do use their bathrooms on road trips-Thank You) but When ever I see a donation box for this wonderful cause, I put money in it...as I will now.
It is one of those causes you may not know the greatness they do unless your family has needed it. vote for these guys. Even if their kilts are too long.
Thank God for the Ronald Macdonald house. Many parents have used it when the last thing they needed was worring about driving back home to sleep or change clothes etc.

Ronald McDonald House does a wonderful job of giving comfort to the families of hospitalized children, no doubt. Churches here in Tacoma and Seattle support them whole-heartedly, some members by volunteering to work in the houses.

Medical facilities in Seattle draw patients from all over the world. The Ronald McDonald houses have volunteers on tap to come and speak other languages with these families, making the experience less frightening.

Me, either. I don't do gimmick fund raising, anyway. I prefer to give directly to the causes when I am there.

I'm sorry to say I agree. If the theme is men in kilts that is what it should be, not dressing up and taking the mickey out of a National Dress, good cause or not.

I wrote an email to the contact person expressing my appreciation for the fundraising effort but that she was making a joke of the kilt and those who wear it.

Thanks for taking the time. I would be quite interested to know if you get any response.

I have heard nothing yet but it is the weekend...

I have been looking online and it seems to more like getting "arrested" for MDA. Something you go through to raise money for a good cause. Most of these guys wouldn't know a kilt from an evening gown.

I'd rather see guys, having fun, wearing the kilt in their occupations than the stuff they put on some of the runway models in "Dressed to Kilt" fashion show
