The kilt is of course originally Scottish, not Irish. But 'tis said that on St. Patrick's Day everyone is just a wee bit Irish. Since green is so closely associated with the Irish and St. Patrick's Day here is my contribution.

Here is one of my favorite Irish kilts. The other is a SWK green shadow. Weather was balmy for the outdoor shot and was enjoying a pint of Guinness.

Better late than never! Here are the three Irish tartans featued in my KIlt Kollection:

First, Ireland's National, a USA Kilts semi-traditional model purchased in June 2006:

Next is my County Cavan, a full 8yd 13oz kilt from Geoffrey (Tailor) of Edinburgh in May 2008:

Finally, Murphy (or Tara) again in the form of a semi-traditional model from USA Kilts and made for me in March 2009:

There are approximately 32 beautiful Irish county tartans available, none of them very old but very attractive nevertheless. I could very happily give most of them hanger space in my Kollection - but not until I win the Lottery!

    Take care,
    Ham.

All three are very nice, Hamish. I especially like the Tara. The colors look much richer than the swatch photo on Rocky's site. It's an Irish tartan I could happily wear, although County Monaghan is killer too.
