    I would! It would never be any sort of issue in Canada; I don't think anyone would bat an eye or say anything other than "I like your kilt."

    Yeah, but it's been around for fifty years.

    We didn't have a "prom" per se, but I wore a kilt to high school graduation mumblety years ago, and I certainly didn't ask permission to do so.

    That's what I was thinking. Wearing a well turned out kilt as a chaperone might be an interesting test of the policy.

    I chaperone prom every year in a kilt, and in the last 8 years, there have been I believe 6 other kilted attendees (all students). I'm in Canada too btw ;)
