Thorina, if you're an experiences seamstress, then build yourself some X Kilts out of this stuff -charcoal hemp/recycled polyester. It's such a dark charcoal that it's really just two subtle shades away from black.

$11.30 a yard is the cheapest I have ever seen it, ever..anywhere. It's usually twice that, or more. I made a box-pleated contempo kilt out of this stuff and LOVED IT... best stuff I've ever seen for a non-trad kilt. For all intents and purposes it was an X-Kilt. Then I sent it to El Salvador. Oy. True story.
At $11.30 a yard, I am buying 2 1/2 yards RIGHT NOW.
Just go over to the DIY forum and download the manual. You'll knock ojut the first one in 10-13 hours. The second one will take you 8-9. You don't like box pleats? Then build your X-Kilt as a reverse kinguisse, using sydnie7's instructions.
Or buy a few yards of this stuff and send it to Steve at Freedom Kilts.
