Listening to the new cd by The Used that my son just bought and looking forward to listening to the cd of Amy McDonald I just got for Mickey this morning, as well as my usual mix of Alison Moyet, My Chemical Romance, Aztec Camera, All Time Low, Style Council, Toy Dolls, and The Dickies - sort of anything that makes me feel like moving mix!

Though if I am trying to write and I get stuck, Yellowcard's "Sing For Me" usually restarts the juices for me.

This afternoon it's Wagner's "Siegfried" from the Met. It's not really my cup of tea, but it accompanies work pretty well and is expanding my mind.

Al Stewart is on in the car.

Lately, a lot of Heather Alexander such as the somewhat martial "March of Cambreadth" which was assisted instrumentally by a group I love called The Wicked Tinkers:

Just at the moment, feeling a bit more primal in a different way, listening to the Tricky Pixies and "Creature of the Wood":

A lot from this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Je6YnLNpL0 - I've seen him live 3 times and it just gets better every time.

When I'm in more of a Ska/Reggae mood, these guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_asXlKRqu78

When I just need some soulful, morose music with a beat, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEQNAZGoZrw

And I've been listening to these guys since jr. high, and they still get daily play in the iPod: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7Hb4bxF12E

Add some Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz, assorted Bluegrass, Muddy Waters, and Stevie Ray Vaughn and you have pretty much everything that's been on "constant rotation" of my iPod for at least the last 2 years.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude
