Truth...I like what you bought a lot better than what you *were* going to get! They look more like shoes to me, and I'm sorry but I'm just not a big fan of the sandals plus kilt look. Guys do it all the time, and I've been known to wear Teva's with a camouflage kilt when hanging around camp during a backpacking trip, but generally....just don't dig it.

I think you scored, here... just my dos centavos.

Nope, a matter of adapting to the climate that some of us live in. Now, not for formal occasions obviously, but just heading out for normal activities? Absolutely!

Wow, I am shocked and honored at the same time; this from a man that has an entire thread dedicated to why he doesn’t like to spend money on clothes. My typical approach for something this expensive is to shop for a year or two until I find exactly what I want. My go-to daypack I bought new in 1978 and Jansport replaced it once for free under their lifetime warranty. I have a 1969 Ford F250 that has been in the family since it was new, and I am still on my first wife (which is a big money saver right there).

If these sandals prove one tenth as durable as the above I will be satisfied.
