I don't remember if you mentioned what you plan to do with the prize when you win. Any specific plans? Kilted for Kids Cancer ( http://www.altkilt.com/cancer) would be a wonderful option IMHO. It goes for a great cause, and it continues positive recognition for the kilt.
Cheers
Mike
Kilted For Kids Cancer is a great charity, but I'm not sure how I can help? The prize in this contest is as follows:
"There is one grand prize: a $5,000 shopping spree at The Bay, in the West End or White Spaces areas of the menswear department. The winner will also be featured in a Fall Style photo shoot with Sharp Magazine in Toronto, Ontario."
I doubt they have any kilts in that section, so I'd be stocking up on shirts, ties, suit(s), etc. On the other hand, one of the sponsors is the Hudson's Bay Company and they have a registered corporate tartan. How sweet would that be! There are a few Xmarkers with kilts in that tartan, including the owner, Steve Ashton:

FYI, there is another way to vote. For those of you who use Facebook, there is an app:

I voted for you, Colin. It'll only let me vote once per day, though.

Looking at the competition, it boggles the mind that you're not in 1st place.

I'm currently at 1070 votes and 8th place overall. Great job, everyone!

Well, technically you're only allowed to vote once per 24 hours, so that's normal. There have been a variety of methods for getting around that limitation posted in this thread, which might come in handy if, say, there were a bunch of people in one household sharing a single computer...

I guess the questions are: who is voting and how many times a day are they voting? It's hard to say how much rule bending to make multiple votes has affected the scoring i.e. if voters really want someone to win, they might be stuffing the ballot box, so to speak. Also, most of the top contenders are guys with fashion blogs and large Twitter followings, so it's tough to compete with them.
In addition to my request for support from various Tartan Army groups, I've sent messages to all the St. Andrew's Societies in Canada and even some Highland attire retailers that have newsletters. A few of them have replied, so hopefully that will generate a few votes.
Maybe some Xmarkers with connections to other groups could send a request for support? Like people who play in pipe bands or are active members of their clan associations?

Really. I don't know if "sharp" means something different in Canada than what it means here, or if I'm just out of touch with modern styles, but the guys who are in the lead seem a little... I dunno... weird. Not what I think of when I think of the word "sharp".
I've been voting once per day for the last week, and will continue to do so. Good luck, Colin! As long as you make the final cut for the judges to view, that's all that matters for now.
