    @ Kenneth, I don't think we answered your question did we. Post some pictures of both jackets. Many here have done the conversions and will be able to tell you at a glance whether it is do-able or not.

    This is all great information. Thank you all. With any luck these will show the first time...otherwise I'll edit this message into a stupor until they do.

    This is the dark jacket. It actually shows lighter in this photo, thanks to the flash. You can see what I was calling pinstripes...they actually seem to be subtle squares. In real life they're much harder to see. Again, thank you flash.


    This is the grey jacket. Both jackets are pretty much the same style.


    Are these alterable? I would need to find a tailor who can do that. I definitely don't have the talent.
