Looks grand. Nice job, I like the flap. This is the next style that I am going to try.

Have fun! It was a lot of fun to make. I'll probably make another.

Thanks! The hardware came off of eBay, and I've been trying to find a reliable source for that hardware ever since and it is proving very elusive. As for the pinking it is all cut by hand with an Xacto knife. I'm in the process of making another one, but probably with a snap closure this time if I don't find more of the pin locks.

the primo group besides the green ecologists of the 1970 period (wearing chukkas and mocassins) has alwasy been the black powder now re-enactor community of folks ..Tandy leathercraft was big as a kid BEN HUNT books ..also boy scouts and ..arts and crafts in summer ..SO may of the reenactor suppliers track of the wolf, dixie gun words ..Muzzleloader magazine ..Muzzle Blasts magazine ..backwoodsman ..over time especially the the Muzzle* mags ..have had Scottish weapons and bags hats featured and the Roger's Rangers groups or stories ..especially if they could recast an original . even a hunting puch is not a huge item ..but they'd carry a bag axe for hacking up a deer to quarter for walking or hanging .
My uncle was called in on a find in upstate NY about 1960 and the item was a sealskin bag just like the pot o gold kind just sitting there ..musta been treated with arsenic or such .

What a unique sporran! I've seen sporrans with a similar pin-hole latch on eBay and I like the look. This sporran stands out, though. It definitely has an old-world feel to it.
