An interesting observation about not many kilted spectators. I have to admit that I have never been to a "games" at Harpenden, so I cannot speak from knowledge, but I think we need to remember that the "games" are held in deepest of deepest "England-shire"(not very far from London) so with the best will in the world there will not be many kilts lurking in many of the households of the spectators.

I am not a regular visitor to Highland Games in Scotland, but I did venture to the Blair Atholl(one of the foremost games) games this year and I get get the impression that more kilts were being worn by spectators than before, but even then the kilted proportion would not be high.

To be fair, there was a surprising number of Kilts on show at Harpenden this year. Aside from the pipe band members and the Black Watch Re-enactors who were clearly spottable there was quite a number of Kilted folk there who were not part of the Kilt Fora crowd. And not just 'wear it for the day' Pub Kilts either. There we a goodly number of quality kilts as well.

A lot of jeans too it must be said. It really was a belting day.

[Edit:] Thanks for all the nice comments by the way.
