It was a pleasure to meet everyone today. The weather was kind and my face is now glowing from the effects of the sun. Alfie the dog is now curled up fast asleep. Probably dreaming of his own Newfoundland tartan collar.
A big thank you to Chas for allowing us to use the tent as a muster point and for storing our gear. Alfie says sorry about the footprints on the table.

Well done Paul and no rain? I wonder if we could have names of the "suspects gallery"? I can place some---most---of them, but not all and it would be really nice to put names to faces, if they don't mind that is.

Gosh Paul, you are quick off the mark. Mine are loading up to Photobucket as I type, but upload speed is just too slow. The way it is going it could be another hour at least.

Chas

Great set of photos Paul. I second Jocks request for the names to go with the faces. It's great to see a hardy bunch of XMarkers out and about. Cheers to all.

The English Bloke's perspective
Harpenden 2012.
My wife's Birthday was fast approaching. This weekend in fact... Mmmmmm.... What to do? I know, I'll take her away for a romantic weekend. Just her and me... an' the Kids (although my big boys opted to stay at home after seeing me pressing a kilt... "No Dad, you have a great time at err... wherever it is you're going... with the Kids". Good boys my big boys.).
So where could we be off to possibly, for this weekend's adventure?
North Wales? Nope... Manchester Airport maybe? Nope... Surely not the thrills and highs of Warrington (South)? Errr... Nope.
The little chap was fairly non-pulsed by the whole idea.
My beautiful daughter was equally unimpressed.
My wife was pleasantly optimistic, but at this stage she was still thinking Manchester Airport...
We journeyed on... and on... and on...
Hang on a minute...
Dunstable and Saint Albans? What on earth could be happening near there that could warrant such a trek.
Well we arrived at our Hotel on the Saturday night, and after struggling with all the bags and the pushchair and the other bags and the carrier bag (or two) up the stairs to the room (They need a lot of stuff do Kids... apparently.)
We settled in.
