day sgian dubh, with a subtle modern twist

I fully agree with the previous posts. A full tang with scales while keeping the traditional sgian blade makes for a wonderful piece. I've never really taken to blades as jewelry (not criticism, just personal taste). Nice job.

I like it, I am one of the ones who requires a sgian to be a useful knife.

Two questions, what kind of antler? I am guessing sambar or red stag based on your location... but it might be C. canadensis.

Second, did you fill the antler pith with epoxy or superglue or not at all or what exactly?

To me it looks great, you have a pleasing mix of brown bark and smooth white grip on the handle attached to what looks like a serviceable blade.

Its red deer antler sourced from highland horn. on this occasion the pith was pretty solid so I didnt fill it. Only really bother doing this when it is crumbly (this is easy for stick tangs as you can just force the tang in to create the hole).
