Rocky,
Beautiful fabric. I'm sure the piece will be a stunner. BTW, I just became a loyal customer of yours last night, ordered my first USA kilt due in no small part to all the raves on this forum. If I smile really nice can you speed up the 6-10 weeks part? (I jest, I know I could have paid the rush charge). In all seriousness, I look forward to your finished product. Both mine, and yours pictured here.

BTW great looking kilt in that tartan
I think it's easiest to say a reverse kinggusie is an inverse box pleat in center rear of the kilt with equal amounts of pleats running towards the center back. Me psersonally enjoy making the reverse kinggusie and have made two in the last month for a friend and family member! I posted pics of one in another post about one of my kilts start to finish. Beautiful work Rocky love the bolts behind you in the pics!!!

Kingussie pleating has a box pleat in the center of the back and the knife edges of the pleats pointing toward the front of the kilt. REVERSE Kingussie pleating has the reverse box pleat in the center of the back and the knife edges of the pleats facing the BACK of the kilt. this is the same type of pleating a Utilikilt has (though much wider).
I actually gave this kilt to my father in law who adored it and so I can't take pictures of the pleats at this point.

Glad you pulled the trigger on a kilt. Unfortunately, we're slammed at the moment (as WELL as trying to prepare for a festival the end of September), so the turnaround is TRULY at 9 weeks.

Got the rest of their bolt for a screaming deal... $70 for 5.5 M of it (double width). It is definitely 13 oz Scottish woven wool cloth, though the hand is a little bit softer than what I'm used to... I guessed that the age of the cloth had something to do with that. I've seen older pieces of cloth people had brought in before and they had the same feel.
When I unwrappd the fabric upon arrival home, I found the original purchase date from the supplier... June 1998.
Thinking a fun 'different' personal project for this one. Maybe a reverse kingussie and a bias cut vest.
Great hunting trip!

Rocky; in your original pic of the material it looks like the Stewart old weathered but in the pics in progress it seems to be the Stewart old modern. Which is it actually?
I know you are familiar with this tartan as you made my modern version not all that long ago. It is still getting rave reviews whenever I wear it which is pretty darn often.

It is Stewart Old Ancient... the green is a light grassy green, the blue is a light sky blue and the red is an Orange - those colors = the "Ancient" color pallet.
