People Remember Kilts

So, most every year I go to a week long conference in Tucson at Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort. For the last 8 years or so
I've worn kilts for common sense and comfort having to be seated all day.

Last year I didn't make the conference (dealing with the cancer stuff). So its been TWO YEARS since staff there has
seen me. First thing when I arrived, "Good to see you again Mr. Macdonald" Almost all the staff commented and said
something along the lines of "Welcome Back" or "I remember you" or "weren't you here before?"

Even a peer therapist came up to me at breakfast the first day and said, "You must be Ron Macdonald - what tartan is that?"

One of the volunteer conference staff said, "We missed your kilts last year."

Ain't no way ANY of that would be going on if I'd worn pants every year like the other guys....

I know kilts are "different" but I never realized they had such an impact on human memory...two years!!

I had an experience when I wore trousers to a final exam last semester. "You should have worn your kilt", my friend remarked. "That is how we all think of and will remember you."

Somewhat related, my Senior year of High School I regularly wore a kilt and my friends and I would wear them to every school dance. I went to the same district for a job interview last year (this is 7 years later) and the secretary asked me where my kilt was.

Kilts just have that type of power.

I still don't get it....or do you mean its easy to finger you to the cops....officer, he was wearing a kilt and he....

People deffinately remember kilts, the people at the fabric shop just call me the Kilt guy! The Loud MacLeod I got from you has been out about at least once a week since I got it from you Ron. We few we merry few are Kilty, Kilt as charged and loving every moment of it!

No doubt about it, you do get remembered. I went into my favorite pub the other day wearing p*nts. I had had an accident a couple days before and both my legs were still quite swollen. Every regular customer in there commented that I didn't look right without a kilt. When I first walked through the door and the bartender saw me he ordered me out of the bar as I wasn't dressed properly. (kiddingly, of course, as he is a good friend of mine)

And its the kilts - not the tartans that folks remember....okay, they remember Loud MacLeod....but every year I've decided to wear the kilts that are new since the last conference...partly to show them off, partly to not wear the same tartan two years in a row...so, in my case its not their remembering the tartan...just that I'm kilted.

A guy in a kilt, a guy in pants, and a duck walk into a bar. Bartender looks up and says, "What is this? Some kind of a joke?"
