    That is not a stock tartan anywhere. I got my hands on a custom run-enuff to make myself and my son matching set. These are being made right now and I am dying.

    But Detroitpete, which tartans are you thinking of?

    I agree , if one is looking for a good looking universal tartan , the Isle of Skye is surely one that is at the top of the list .

    My vote for IOS too,I got mine 2nd hand here on Xmarks and it's my #2 most commented on tartan (as GGGP says Scruffy gets the most).

    I have to say that i am very pleased with the Black Watch that I purchased from Rocky. It's the Semi-Trad and it's a great fit and look and holds up well everywhere I go. I'm thinking that the next one with be the Ancient Campbell, but I haven't decided on weight yet, but it's going to be wool for sure this time!

    Black Watch, yes! But how about Red Hackle?

    Is the red hackle available to the public or is it a restricted tartan? Or is it available only as a special weave? I find it a very attractive tartan.
