I love threads like this. So much to look at! So many observations to befuddle the mind!
This one really caught my eye. Lise MacDougall (thanks for the correction, Kyle), in her signature boots, tartan skirt, and jacket (I remembered seeing photos of her wearing it at the Aboyne Highland Games in another thread).
But I was also checking out the fringe on his day plaid. Wow, that's a long fringe! I think it looks great. In gearing up to do the fringe on my own day plaid, I was wondering just how long is normally seen, and this one surprised me.

Great set of photos Kyle and fantastic variety of colours in the tweed jackets. Would love to get hold of a few of them.

Great photos, the young lads look like they are having as much fun as the adults.

In regards to the tweeds, me too! And even though I have attended the Argyllshire Gathering and Oban Games several times, I cannot receive credit for this wonderful selection of photos. They were taken by a photographer for The Oban Times in Argyll; however, they have not been copyrighted and I was granted written permission (via e-mail) to use them. The same goes for the Aboyne Games photos and the Clan Farquharson photos - two threads on XMTS, in which I started a while back.
On another note, the majority of the Clan Macpherson photos are indeed my own; either taken by me, my wife, or a member of my family. Those that were not taken by me, or a member of my family, are always granted permission by their respected owner for use.
Cheers,

Excellent pics, Kyle, some very familiar locations there, brings back lots of happy memories.
I worked in Oban for a spell during the nineteen eighties, lived in lodgings and was about to buy a house there when my job got restructured and I got moved to Glasgow.
I haven't yet managed to attend the Argyllshire Gathering in Oban, that's one which is still on my "to do" list.
