It might also depend on how you feel you look in a cream-colored shirt.
Depending on what shade of cream and how much sun I've recently gotten (I don't get to see it often lately since I work nights), some cream/peached shirts tend to make me look either washed-out or yellow-ish. I have one but don't wear it often because of this.
I concur that a white shirt would probably be best under the circumstances.

That's my take, never too early to assert your own style.

I think that coordinating with the color of the bride's dress would be less important than wearing a shirt in a color that goes well with what you are wearing. A white shirt would probably go well with whatever you wear, but a cream shirt could look very nice, too, depending on what else you are wearing. The choice of fabric would be more important than the choice of color; definitely pick something rich and dressy.

Please forgive the fact that the spell correct on my smart phone (which I am not smart enough to use well) changed "Freddie" to "Dressiest." Go figure! But I really do cringe when I see all the men in a wedding party dressed like little girls in a ballet recital--you know, all color coordinated, wearing tuxedos in the day time, white shoes, etc.
Freddie Mercury had his own style, but it's probably not one you should wear to your wedding. ;-)
