Need Fur Sporran closure ideas

OK, as my computer wouldn't let me post last night at home...
A lot of ladies handbags use pretty strong magnetic clasps without damaging the cards, (just their husbands wallet), so I wouldn't have thought it'd do too much damage.

I've used the magnetic clasps a number of times. They're quite convenient when you don't want an external stud, and I'm not terribly partial to snaps.

Could velcro work?

I'd be worried about the stiff side of the velcro eventually doing bad things to the surrounding fur (felting/knotting it up).

Thanks for the input, you do fantastic work. Im not big on snaps either and you bring up a valid point on velcro. My issue is the use of magnets around cell phone and credit cards. Perhaps the magnets used for purses are not as strong as some of the rare earth magnets I can get out of old hard drives. In your first photo you have a magnet clasp near a cell phone. Has this ever caused an issue that you know of? I think in the long run the magnet will win out, I just dont want to try to pay for dinner one night and have my card not work...... I guess I keep asking about this as Ive been on some handbag and purse forums researching it and there are a few people who have had damaged smart phones due to a magnet they did not know was close to the pocket they had the phone in.

As mentioned, that style of magnetic closure is very common on ladies' purses. It's hard to prove a negative, but having carried mag-closure purses for many years I have not experienced significant issues with cell phones, mag-strip cards, hotel card keys, etc. Sure, a credit card will sometimes lose its function but it seems to me to be more related to frequency of use (i.e. I wore it out!) vs. the purse being to blame.

I've been looking recently at iPad covers and many of them have magnetic closures or magnets that somehow tell it to go to sleep when you close the cover. If you can use a magnet on an iPad cover without worries, I can't see a sporran posing problems.
