It was meant as a joke, David, which is why it was posted in this forum. Similar to the one that goes "A gentleman is someone who knows how to play the bagpipes, but doesn't". I didn't really intend to open a discussion on the matter of Gentlemen which, as you so rightly say, has been "done to death" on these forums. Personally, I don't think that a gentleman would be intentionally rude, either.
