Omar, I have enjoyed your posts. I am hoping you will provide us with some pics of "the real Mexico" and not the post card version on the scarfs visit. I anxiously await your postings. I eat regularly at a restaurant called Los Tres Cochinitos in a largely Mexican are of LA and not a gringo restaurant. I am always go kilted and it is largely well received, although some of the bar patrons do a bit of a double take.

LLew has arrived safely in San Francisco. He was waiting for me when I got home from the ship a few minutes ago. We are supposed to have good weather this weekend and so I shall try to get my pics in the next 2-3 days and then send the scarf on to Be da veva in Canada.

Well, Llew has been having a ball here in SF. We went on a not so typical tour of the city and so these pics may seem a little odd to some of you. Just remember, I am a sailor after all. So with no more preamble I present, Llew in San Francisco 2012

The Haight wore them down and so LLew and Manu stopped at a pub for a drink

Llew, being the devil he is. quickly made friends with a couple of the pubs patrons

The next day it was down to Fisherman's Wharf to board the USS Pampanito,
A WWII submarine. That is Alcatraz Prison behind me

Llew was really interested in the torpedo tubes on the Pampanito

At the same pier is the WWII Liberty ship, SS Jeremiah O'Brien, the ship that I am a volunteer on

While we were on the boat deck one of the America's Cup racers went by on a
practice run

By now Llew was really tired and so he took a short nap in the Masters cabin on
the O'Brien. Fortunately the Master (not captain) was ashore at the time.

No rest for the wicked they say and so Llew trudged onward

the Balclutha a 3 masted sailing ship built in 1883 on the River Clyde

Llew wanted to see how easily the ship's wheel worked. That is the Golden Gate
Bridge in the background

By now Llew had had enough and so we hopped a cable car and headed home. Llew is resting up now for the start of his trip to Quebec tomorrow.

What a fantastic set of pics Sailortats. You certainly gave Llew a great look around. Glad you enjoyed hosting the scarf ... Great to see Llew chatting the girls up in the pub ... Llews still a bachelor and on the look out for a girlfriend you know ...
