These worsted-weight wonders are made from Paton's Classic Wool (white), and the blue was specially-ordered for me by the mistress of one of my favorite yarn shops. I've lost the label and can't remember the brand. It might be one of Plymouth's varieties, but I can't be certain. I worked these hose (yes, the other one exists) on size 5 DPNs (I prefer to use US size 3 and smaller, and finer-weight yarn) and while they did take several hours to make, they went surprisingly quickly, and are comfortable to wear. I plan to debut them at the Allison Woods Highland Games in November.
Friday, are you related to Joe Friday? I've been watching "Dragnet" lately.

Thank you, I prefer US 3 for the feet with worsted weight, let me know how size 5 wear and feel.
No I am not related to Joe, Friday was the day I joined and quick for a forum name.

I applaud your successful flogging. Pains me to make your ginormous skull even bigger, but I will say that them sockies are awesome!
By the way, Piper, are you related to Rowdy Roddy? I was watching They Live the other night...

I hate to bust your bubble, LitTrog, but I'm not related to Roddy. But, James best, who played Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane on the "Dukes of Hazzard" lives about an hour from me. So do Steve Martin, Andie MacDowall, and various other cool folks.
By the way, if my head gets any bigger, I'll have to go outside to comb my hair.
