How about a pic of you wearing it with a kilt? Your question is pretty difficult to answer without such.

I rarely ever have need of a long heavy winter overcoat since I live in a temperate clime. But I do have a WWII US Army overcoat that does quite well with the kilt. But it can look a tad costumish, what with its obvious military pedigree. But one thing I do like about it is that it comes down to mid-calf on me. Any long coat that doesn't at least cover the knees isn't going to be of much use with a kilt, in my opinion. And plus, if a coat covers the kilt but doesn't cover the knees, it can look a bit weird when you walk around with it buttoned up. People might think you're a flasher or something.

I'm in agreement with the others. An Inverness cape should be pretty low on the priority list. Make sure you've got the kilt you want, Argyll jackets, sporrans, hose, and all the other goodies you will get a lot of use from first. Considering the high cost of an Inverness cape, it would be silly to invest in one when the "basics" aren't yet covered.

Ask and you shall receive. This is the coat over my MacQueen tartarn that I wore today (didn't wear the coat as it's still too warm for me).

How about a signed blank check?

And I like the coat with the kilt.

I might be able to accommodate the sign blank check...of course it will only be worth the whatever the paper it's printed on is worth though...lol.

And thank you. I was worried that the coat would be too short for the kilt.

That is good, you could not even use mine to pay for a stamp to mail it, much less an envelope.
