Thanks Colin,
I just strapped it on to test it out- unless I'm either jogging or goose-stepping (neither are activities I normally do while kilted ) the tassels are quiet.
I'm assuming it's partly due to the short braids (less room for them to swing) and partially due to the soft body that they strike.

That is an absolutely stunning piece of work! The entire set is. It is incredibly cohesive. I love the stud and tassel pattern. You outdid yourself, once again. Congratulations!
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Good one Scott, I was waiting to see if the soft bodies were going to catch on, since you made the first one. I think that they are far superior to the hard body versions. As usual a subperb design and crafting job mate.
BTW. I don't know if any other members have noticed, but Artificer's products and ideas on sporran making are now being copied by fellow sporran makers (no names, no pack drill). So if you order a sporran from the man himself, you know that you are getting it from the leader of the pack.

Thank you! I'm hoping to do "Lantern" or "Ball" (I'm not sure that the pattern has an actual name, at least I can't find one) style tassel on another one of these in the not too distant future. From the X-Marks thread HERE.
Pic is just for the tassel pattern, as it's the only one I can find.

They are catching on. Part of the lag is that my queue extends out far enough that when a picture of a completed work "goes live" there may be a 4-5 month delay before the results of a "new" product being requested by others are actually seen.
I have several in the queue, including a similarly styled bag attached to a madly detailed brass cantle (which I'm positively giddy about).

As you say "No Names, No Pack Drill" = The less said the better. The situation is what it is, with antique patterns there is no chance of protection. Any other issues aren't currently worth any legal costs they may incur.

I am always so impressed with your work - the designs, the attention to detail, the finishing - truly inspiring!

Very nice indeed. My only complaint is that it's not hanging in front of my kilt! The belt and sporran strap combination are great too.

I can report back that after two weeks of these pictures on the web there does seem to be a desire for this style of bag (based on the fact that my last 4 enquiries and 3 newest orders are for bags of similar construction).

Thank you both, and Standard, there is an easy solution to that particular problem

Beautiful work, Articifer! It reminds me of a turn of the century leather sporran that I have:
