I have always liked the name “Carling”. It is Gaelic for Little Champion. Congratulations on the adoption.

We have a rescue cat and three rescue dogs. All tragic stories, but all with happy endings so far. Bless you for your work with the animal shelter and for adopting this kitten.

Baldron is an old Scottish name for a cat according to the glossary found in The Modern Scottish Minstrel, published in 1856.

I also would like to honor and congratulate you on adopting this little feline.
Several years ago, I adopted a dog. I named her Abigail because she has a particularly lady-like demeanor and the old-fashioned sort of name seemed to fit. later I learned that ne name Abigail is derived from Hebrew and means something like "bringer of joy." A more apt name could not have occurred to me.
Abby loves cats, so she acquired one of her own, named Sabina. Now Sabina graciously permits Abigail and myself to share her lodgings so long as I keep the mortgage and utilities paid.

 Congratulations!!
There exist a special bond between men and animals when a kindred hearts are touched. A name for a cat?? Like the old joke of the farmer who had 17 cats, they were all called "Cat". When asked why, he said " Why name them, they never come when called".
A good name, considering the situation - HOPE! That there is hope for all rescues>
