Excellent! Thank you. I ordered an umbrella for a friend and a hat for me. Yes, Kyle, it was the fore-and-aft hat. Lol.

The Official Bren ,
I ordered an 8 yd , 16 oz , Balmoral series kilt from Scotweb in Montgomery Blue Green Modern tartan last year , right about at this exact time of year . The tartan I choose was not a popular stock tartan, but , it also wasn't a custom weave .
Scotweb's estimated delivery at the time of order was 10 to 12 weeks , which was perfectly fine as I expected at least that timeframe . I actually recieved the kilt in 8 weeks and it was superb , the quality elements were all there . I had a few e-mails back and forth with the staff at Scotweb while the kilt was being made and they were always quick to respond .
A couple of things to bear in mind , the lead time of the tartan you want and the time of year when you place the order .
I purposely waited until this time of year to place my order . The Holidays were over , kilt orders for Burns Night celebrations had passed , spring and summer Highland Games weren't at the forefront of people's minds yet , thus I suspected this time of year might be slow and I might get the kilt a little sooner ( which I did ) .
I have ordered several items from Scotweb and they have always been great to work with . I just wanted to let you and others know that part of the speedy delivery was probably attributed to " time of year " .
It would be unfair to Nick and Scotweb to use my example as " standard procedure " . I was perfectly happy with their original timeframe , but they were able to exceed that , so they did . They could have taken the entire 12 weeks and no one would have known the difference , but they did not . They made my kilt and the timeframe was sooner rather than later , so they inspected it and shipped it . They didn't drag their feet about it , nor did they hurry up and cut corners .
Very , very pleased . Currently , it's my " go to " kilt . There are many great kiltmakers here on Xmarks and many great companies . I haven't done business with all of them yet , although I plan to as much as I can .
Back to your original question . If you are thinking about a kilt from Scotweb , my experience with them has been very positive .
Best regards , Mike

Excellent. Thank you, Mike. I am considering a kilt from them in the near future.
Your post has been very helpful.

Point well taken! Don't forget to post photos once your new hat arrives.
Cheers,

Just a quick comment in reference to my own experience with delivery times. I just recieved yesterday two lengths of tartan cloth that I had ordered on January 1/13. To date I have made 7 orders over the past year from Scotweb. And I would say that on each order it took roughly three weeks from the order date to actual delivery of the product...give or take a few days. This most recent order was dispatched from Scotland using Royal Mail(so, no extra charge) on Wednesday, January 16/13 and as I said earlier arrived at my door yesterday here in Ottawa, Canada January 24/13.
I would agree with previous contributors to this post that if you've got a deadline such as Christmas or Easter you are just stacking the odds against you. Think about it....EVERYONE in the world is ordering something online at Christmas time!
Over all, I would be happy to recommend Scotweb as a very reliable retailer. In fact, I can't wait for the next opportunity to shop online!!
Cheers,
Stephane
